Work Practice Procedures

Several controls and work practices used singly or in combination, should be employed effectively to reduce asbestos exposures during small maintenance and renovation operations. These include:

• Call EH&S Extension 5179 for confirmation of any questionable areas or materials
• The use of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter devices for the cleanup of ACM debris
• Wet wiping and mopping for the cleanup of ACM debris
