Sponsored Programs Project Administration

-- Overview --

The Foundation for California State University, San Bernardino (Foundation) is the designated "Sponsored Programs Administrator" at the California State University, San Bernardino. The Foundation is the recipient for the majority of sponsored programs.  No individual or Department may be a recipient of an award in the name of the Foundation. As authorized by the Foundation's Board of Directors, only the Foundation Executive Director or his designee may execute agreements on behalf of the Foundation.

External Funding for research, scholarly activity, other university programs, and for faculty enhancement is critical for maintenance of a healthy university.  At California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), the Research and Sponsored Programs Office (RSPO) and the Foundation for CSUSB work together to provide assistance to faculty and staff throughout the many stages of the funding process.

CSUSB faculty and staff work with RSPO during the pre-award process.  When the grant has been awarded or a contract is ready for signing, the Foundation becomes the primary office for faculty and staff interaction.  The Foundation for CSUSB is also responsible for the post-award administration.

The procedures for administering Sponsored Programs activities is found in the Faculty Administration Manual (FAM) 950, (Appendix A).
