About the University:

California State University, San Bernardino, one of the fastest growing campuses in the nation, is located in a Southern California metropolitan area 60 miles east of Los Angeles and 60 miles west of Palm Springs, at the foot of the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. Noted for its beautiful 642-acre campus, the university serves a student body of approximately 17,000. The San Bernardino-Riverside region is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation. The area offers a wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. Housing costs are about one-half of those in Los Angeles. The university is growing and currently has approximately 17,000 students, 400 full-time faculty, 550 permanent staff positions, and an annual budget of more than $100 million. The university has a major branch campus in Palm Desert.

Employment Practice Statement:

All positions are open on a competitive basis. Application Filing Process:

Employment applications are accepted only for current job vacancies and must be received in the Human Resources Department by the listed closing date and time. A separate employment application is required for each position. A resume may accompany the application, but will not substitute a completed application.

A current Typing Certificate must accompany the application for positions requiring a typing skill.

A physical exam and/or fingerprinting may be required for some positions.

Listed positions include vacancies within California State University, San Bernardino and its auxiliaries. The auxiliary vacancies are not state positions. Auxiliaries include the Foundation for CSUSB and the Santos Manuel Student Union. The advertisement Job Code will identify auxiliary positions with an "F" for Foundation and an "S" for Santos Manuel Student Union.

Applications are evaluated on the basis of the information provided. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure information is thorough, complete, and relevant to the specific position opening. Failure to provide sufficient information, which evidences meeting minimum qualifications and required skills and abilities, will result in disqualification or non-consideration. Based on a review of all applicants, the best qualifies candidates will be invited to appear for an interview with the hiring department.

Acknowledgement cards are sent to all candidates confirming receipt of his/her application and no further communication will be made with the applicant unless he/she is selected for interview.

Candidates who are interviewed will be notified by mail if not selected for the position.

The selected candidate will receive a formal offer of employment by Human Resource Management.

Salary Range:

The salary ranges that appear on the job vacancy advertisements are the full ranges for the position. Typically, initial appointments start at the beginning of a posted salary range.

Temporary Appointment:

Employment in a temporary assignment may end before or be extended beyond the appointment expiration date, and/or be converted to a full-time/half-time or greater, probationary or part-time, temporary position contingent upon availability of funds and operational needs of the University.

Temporary Pool Positions:

These positions are advertised to establish a pool of qualified candidates for various classifications. Applications for our pool positions are accepted on an on-going basis. Assignments will vary in length from full-time permanent positions to temporary full-time, part-time and hourly positions.
