In the interests of Quality and Continuous Improvement, we are always looking for ideas and feedback on how to improve and expand our current program offerings and welcome the opportunity to partner with you and your department's resources to offer you first-class training opportunities.
We look forward to serving your needs and continuously providing you with the best opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills and achieve your professional development goals.
Required Training
In order to maintain legal compliance and a safe, respectful workplace, CSUSB requires employee participation in certain workshops. There are currently three required topics, which are usually offered on a quarterly basis:
- Workplace Violence Prevention
- Diversity Awareness: Stepping Stone One
- Sexual Harassment Prevention (required by California law within 6 months of hire if you oversee or direct the work of employees, student workers, or volunteers). This is an on-line training program offered on an ongoing basis. Please contact Paige Williams at ext. 73719 to sign up for this class.
- Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Hazard Communication and Fire Safety Training. (Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will send out a memo to each New Employee Orientation participant and their supervisor with enrollment and class information). Please contact EHS for more information at ext 75179.
There are other workshops which are not required but are highly recommended. Included are such topics as Disaster Preparedness and Workplace Ethics, which are offered periodically throughout the year.
For information on the required courses and other training and development classes please view the Training Catalog. This webpage is updated quarterly with the new class schedule for that specific quarter.
To register for these workshops, please email hrtrain@csusb.edu or call the Training Hotline on ext. 73125.
If you have any question about our training programs or the Fee Waiver Benefit, please contact Karen Logue at ext. 75138.
